The Significance of Calcified Thyroid Nodules in Thyroid Cancer

To explore the relationship between thyroid nodule in calcification with thyroid cancer, in the paper, the surgical pathology of 145 eases of thyroid calcified nodule 212 ultrasound were retrospectively analyzed, according to classification of calcification in size, shape and position, and the proportion of the cancerous tubercle to present each kind of calcification with the non--cancer tubercle are counted. The conclusion is that both benign and malignant neoplasm of thyroid can be calcified. Located at the interior, the spot punctual, the needle--tip type or the sand grains type＇s micro calcification nodule often prompts the malignant possibility. Ultrasound examination an important clinical value in the diagnosis of thyroid disease and guiding surgery.
