上海地区早在宋元时期已有穆斯林的足迹,上海当地的穆斯林人口在外来穆斯林的不断迁入定居过程中得以发展。在社会历史变迁的不同时期,外来穆斯林人口逐渐迁入上海地区、并不断融入到上海本土文化中,这成为上海穆斯林人口发展的主要形式。

As early as the Song and Yuan Dynasties,some Muslim had come to Shanghai area and settled down.In different historical periods,Muslim from other country or other parts of China immigrated into Shanghai and then they were integrated in local culture.
