Abstract: | Construction and application of a new device for obtaining accurate human respiration frequency measures and approximate respiration amplitude measures are described. The instrumentation required is small and unobtrusive and poses no hazard to the subject. Other devices commonly used for obtaining similar respiratory metrics are briefly reviewed and contrasted as to their limitations. Previous research efforts involving application of the new respiration instrumentation to dynamic environments are also discussed. |
