A New Viewpoint on Knowledge Represention-perceptual Symbol Theory

A classical debate in cognitive science is about how information is represented in the human brain. One dominant explanation was the prepositional symbol theory, but recently Barsalou proposed a new viewpoint-the perceptual symbol theory. In this article, the new viewpoint is introduced, including its core properties, its difference from the prepositional symbol theory and the experiments to verify the theory.
