Group sessions for postgraduate students

Three group sessions were run for postgraduate students. These showed that the students wanted a close personal relationship with their supervisors, and that they often had little idea of what their research work involved. The students were shocked by the difference between their own attitudes and the supervisors'. Simple group work did much to help.
