Social correlates of youth suicide rates in the United States

Abstract:The 1980 suicide rate of youths in the United States were found to be associated with three clusters of social variables: social integration, the age structure, and race/region. These associations also were found for older groups, suggesting similarities in the impact of social variables on regional suicide rates.
