Disparity increase with convergence for constant perceptual criteria

Abstract:If a depth interval is matched to an egocentric distance, the disparity required increases with convergence by 50 to 130% (depth micropsia). If a depth interval is matched to a frontal extent of constant visual angle, disparity again increases with convergence, but the proportion increase is slightly smaller. This difference is attributed to the previously established effect of convergence on perceived size (size micropsia).
